LOVE WHAT YOU DO AND DO WHAT YOU LOVE

Earlier this week, I celebrated 20 years with Cummins. Reflecting on my 27-year professional journey, I recognize that dedicating two decades to one organization is a significant milestone, there’s still much ahead to achieve and best yet to come.

This journey has not been a case of repeating the same year of experience 27 times. Each role I’ve taken on has brought unique challenges and opportunities, contributing to my personal and professional growth. I’ve truly enjoyed each position, from engine design and development to leading global organization, organizational development, along with full customer-centric roles.

Along the way, I’ve had the privilege of developing many team members and supporting their career growth. With these experiences, I can confidently say I’ve formed lasting friendships.

Every role within an organization is crucial and every one can achieve excellence in everything, whatever you do. Achieving significant success requires a long-term perspective, continuous learning, and the ability to reinvent oneself. It's essential to focus on the goal and tune out distractions. There are no shortcuts to success.

Maintaining a clear vision of the big picture helps avoid getting sidetracked by short-term distractions. One needs to cultivate the ability to look inward and listen to your inner voice. Have conviction in your goals, stay focused, and consistently raise the bar year after year. Your only true competition is with yourself.

While career success is important, it’s just one aspect of life. Health, family, financial independence and spirituality are equally important. Pursue hobbies that offer relaxation and rejuvenation. Big achievements often require big sacrifices, and it’s up to each individual to choose their own path.

  1. Growth is important, but so is finding joy in each day and bringing happiness to those around you.
  2. Ultimately, you are the creator of your own destiny.
  3. Believe in a higher power, one that administers both rewards and consequences based on our actions.
  4. Attitude drives actions, and actions drive results. Therefore, strive to maintain a positive and proactive attitude in everything you do.

Rain will always come and go as per law of nature; one needs to always carry umbrella so that our “Inner Spark will not Die.”

As per Patanjali’s Yoga Sutras “Ishvara Pranidhana” one should focus on duty of Karma Yoga by fully surrendering to the God.
